    Iron Maiden & MSG as headlining. Steve Harris gave me and my bro 2 All Access Passes for the whole festival. That's were we've met and talked to Lemmy (and many others) for 3 days.

1983

  • April:
    My first commissioned work : photo shooting with Accept in Antwerp, Belgium
  • June:
    Heavy Sound Festival - Bruges - Belgium (where we've met Lemmy again)
  • September:
    Sunrise Festival - Mulhouse - France

    This festival was cancelled to extreme weather conditions. But me & my bro got to meet Anvil, Black Sabbath, B.O.C, Lemmy (again), and the Venom trio. Great memories.

    Steve Harris gave me a private bass lesson on my 1977 Fender Precision Bass

    First time seeing and meeting with Ronnie James Dio

1984

  • January:
    A crazy evening spent with Judas Priest before and after their show in Brussels (with Ted Nugent)
  • February:
    First time meeting Metallica (a Sunday afternoon in a small restaurant in Poperinge, B) when touring as the opening act for Venom 
  • June:
    Heavy Sound Festival - Poperinge - Belgium (Merciful Fate, Metallica, Twisted Sister, Motörhead)
  • Extensive concerts shootings in Belgium, France & Holland
  • November:
    Meeting Metallica again (Ride The Lighting tour) where I did a video interview with the band

1985

    Heavy Sound Festival - Poperinge - Belgium (Warlock, Pretty Maids, Lee Aaron, Slayer, UFO)

    First time seeing and meeting Slayer

1986

  • March:
    First time meeting with Helloween
  • April/May: 
    I sent some live photos of Helloween by mail to their management (hoping that they will use some). At the end of my letter, I signed with a little drawing of a character with a pumpkin head...
  • June:
    "FATALITE" a 4 pages short story published in Tintin Magazine
  • July:
    I receive a thank you letter from Helloween asking for more drawings
  • August:
    M.O.R. Nürnberg & Mannheim - Germany (Warlock, MSG, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Ozzy, Scorpions)
  • September/October: 
    Many fax exchanges with Helloween's management regarding my drawings
  • November/December:
    Helloween send me the whole song-list and lyrics for their forthcoming album Keepers Of The Seven Keys


1987

  • May:
    The Helloween album Keepers Of The Seven Keys comes out (including my first drawings)
  • June/July/Aug:
    Several publications in "Rue du Sourire" a professionnal comic fanzine

    First trip to the USA (California)

  • January: Back from India.
  • May:
    First time seeing live and meeting with Alice Cooper
  • August:
    Helloween's Keepers Of The Seven Keys (Part II) album is released worldwide.
  • August:
    Monsters Of Rock Festivals in Donington + Holland & Germany (Iron Maiden, Kiss, David Lee Roth, Guns 'n Roses, Megadeth, Helloween,...) in Donington Steve Harris gave me his own Artist's All Access Pass.
  • December:
    Helloween ask me to create a front cover design for a forthcoming live album.

1989

  • March:
    Publication of "HOT TEACHER" a backcover comic strip for the famous Fluide Glacial (France) 
  • April: 
    Release of Helloween's Live in The UK Live album
  • September > November: 
    2,5 months Road Trip (Northbound and Southbound) to the USA / Meeting with Sepultura in NYC

1990

  • January : I was required to do my national service for 20 months in Belgium.
    That's where I learned to use a Mac (with Photoshop 1.0).
  • Since that year, I've started to limit the number of concerts I photograph. This is mainly because I have less free time and I have a girlfriend who lives in Paris whom I try to see as often as possible during my "permissions" to leave the country.

1991

  • Early August:
    I finished my 20-months mandatory civil service.
  • 21st August: 
    Helloween's The Best, the Rest, the Rare release
  • End August:
    Hanging out in Brussels, record stores and libraries along with James Hetfield and Kirk Hammet (prior to their show with AC/DC and Mötley Crüe).
  • November :
    Slayer in Brussels + Nirvana in Ghent.

1991-1995

Working 100% on Mac (Photoshop, Illustrator & Quark X-Press)

I still photograph some concerts, but since the number of accredited photographers has increased, too many restrictions have piled up and the pleasure of shooting live bands has diminished.

  • July 1994:
    Helloween's Master Of The Rings album release (for which I did everything from A to Z on my computer).
  • July 1994:
    First time seeing and shooting TOOL !
  • Aug 1994:
    Metallica in Florida for the two last concerts of their US Tour as VIP guest. Crazy nights out with Kirk Hammet & friends
  • Nov 1994:
    Helloween's Master Of The Rings Tour - This is the last time I've met the band in the flesh.
